Administrative history
The Public Affairs department coordinates a wide range of communications, marketing, and information services designed to enhance public awareness of the University of Manitoba in the province, throughout Canada, and internationally.
Custodial history
The fonds was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by the University Relations and Information Office, and its successor body, Public Affairs, through numerous accessions throughout the years. The collection was originally part of the University Relations and Information Office fonds but was renamed in 2008 to more accurately reflect the provenance of the collection.
Scope and content
The many scrapbooks constituting this collection of newspaper clippings are from various newspapers from 1892 through 2001. The topics covered in the clippings primarily relate to the history of the University of Manitoba. Some years include articles on other academic institutions.
