History
Born in 1871 in Renfrewshire, Scotland, Matthew A. Parker was a graduate of the University of Glasgow. He came to Canada in 1904 to establish the Department of Chemistry at the University of Manitoba. He later helped to found the Scientific Club of Winnipeg and contributed to the establishment of the Canadian Institute of Chemistry in 1919. Parker died in 1953.
