Biographical history

Morris Block graduated from the University of Manitoba with a B.Sc. in 1953 and a B Sc. in Civil Engineering in 1955.

Custodial history

The fonds was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Clara Block in 2005.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of an assortment of documents related to the University of Manitoba Engineering Society, University of Manitoba Students'€ Union (UMSU), Manitoba Medical College, and Manitoba Agricultural College. The fonds also contains 10 atlas maps of Manitoba and western Canada and colour illustrations titled "The Funeral of Two Members of the 90th Battalion at Winnipeg" and "€Scenes from An Emigrant'€s Life in Manitoba."€ 39 black and white photographs mainly related to engineering activities are also included in the fonds. Winnipeg Boys'€ Choir concert programs, T. Eaton Co. Anniversary ribbons, a University of Manitoba Engineers'€ felt banner, and University of Manitoba felt patches are also included.
