Name of creator
Lillian Gibbons was born and raised in Winnipeg. She was an author, historian, reporter and a journalist for the Winnipeg Tribune for 40 years. She retired in 1972. Gibbons graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1928 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, then earned a Masters degree in Canadian History, also from the University of Manitoba. She died at the age of 89.
The fonds was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections in 1981 and 1988 by Lillian Gibbons.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of issues of the Winnipeg Tribune, some with annotations and notes made by Lillian Gibbons, programs, pamphlets, menus, and correspondence.
