The second series covers Davis' Literary Career. The series is broken down into the subseries of research and publications. There is research on several of Davis' projects, including Sir Frank Brangwyn; photoengraving and Frederick Brigden; Simcoe County; Manitoba Artists; and Mary Riter Hamilton. The publications subseries is divided onto to sections, articles and typescripts. IN the articles section there are some reviews Davis wrote as well as articles on the following subjects: prairie women as seen through The Grain Growers Guide 1908-1928; women and technology on the prairies 1910-1940; Mary Barrett Speechly; landscape in Canadian popular illustration before 1920; and the Grand Western Canadian Screen Shop. These were published in 1989.
The final series encompasses Davis' academic career. There is a report card from King's College Hospital in 1945, as well as a 1948 graduation certificate and a testimonial from 1951. There is also literature dealing with both The Lady Eleanor Holles School and King's College Hospital from the 1960s and the 1990s. There are graduation programs and invitations from the University of Winnipeg from 1975 to 1977. As well, there are two University of Winnipeg journals from 1977 and 1979. This series also includes Davis' graduate school essays from both the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba from 1975 to 1981. Finally there is an official transcript from the University of Manitoba from 1988.
There is also a photograph collection (PC 144) which contains 74 slides dealing with Davis' research and teaching of art history. The slides contain examples of art from the 18th to the 20th centuries, with an emphasis on the years 1850 to 1890.
