A.H. Reginald Buller fonds

1998-031 is comprised of glass lantern slides that Buller used for lectures and teaching.

2004-025 contains personal and professional correspondence of Dr. Buller’s. It also contains hand painted wall charts created by and under the direction of Buller for use in his classes and lectures.

2004-096 contains numerous objects used for scientific experiments and imaging by Dr. Buller. There are also numerous glass lantern slides which he used for lectures and teaching.

2005-095 is comprised of glass lantern slides that Buller used for lectures and teaching.

2007-062 contains an array of photographs, illustrations, and manuscripts relating to Buller’s research and publications. It also includes many of Buller’s notebooks from his own education at Mason Science College.

2008-062 contains personal correspondence of Buller’s with various parties, mainly from the early 1900s.

2013-113 one card catalogue by Office Specialty Manufacturing Company limited.

2013-134 involves Buller’s cremation and his remains. The urn is enclosed in the Tyndall stone monument in front of the Buller Biological Laboratories at the University of Manitoba Fort Garry campus. The plaque in this accession was previously installed at the Cereal Research Centre where Buller’s remains were held.

2013-143 consists of a wide range of ephemera and documents from Buller. It includes attendee pins and luggage tags as well as several maps, correspondence and drafts relating to Fungi of Manitoba, and Buller’s applications for several teaching positions from the early 1900s.

2014-003 consists primarily of lithographed wall charts purchased by Buller for teaching during his tenure at the University. There are also court records from a real estate dispute and a poem.

2014-120 consists of lantern slides which Buller used for his lectures and presentations.

The fonds consists of a three-page history of the Bison Building, which once stood on the campus of the University of Manitoba. It was written by J.W. Carter for the Department of Private Funding. The building was originally built as a double hangar for the Royal Canadian Air Force. It was moved to the University of Manitoba in 1948 and served for a short while as Students' Union Building, after which it was rechristened the Bison Building.

The Joe Fisher fonds consists of fourteen series: biographical, administrative, correspondence, research, writing, publications, artefacts, large format, images, large format graphics, reel-to-reel, audiocassettes, videocassettes, and electronic records. Personal records and books that have been inscribed to Joe Fisher comprise the biographical series. (Refer to the finding aid for a list of the books that were not kept). Proposals, contracts, book promotions, book reviews, financial, and other general and public life records form the administrative series. While the personal correspondence of Fisher is located in the biographical series, the correspondence series contains all other correspondence, including letters to readers, agents, publishers, and research inquiries. The general research in the research series is largely separated by book, while the notes and interviews are separated as they were found in the collection. The records in the writing series are categorized according to the form of the records: journals, manuscripts, editorial notes and drafts, poetry, and manuscript proofs. Publications are grouped in three main categories: newspaper articles, magazine articles, and books. The newspaper articles and books are sorted chronologically and the magazine articles alphabetically. The artefacts series consists of 5 plaques and a seal from Fisher's business, Bardo Publications Inc. The large format records, large format photographs, reel-to-reel, audiocassettes, and videocassettes series are stored according to their original order. The images series is separated by format: slides, negatives, and photographs. These latter series include 1313 photographs, of which 873 are colour and 440 are black and white, 261 negative sheets, 217 colour slides, 37 videocassettes, 11 audio cassettes, and 10 reel-to-reel audio tapes.

The fonds consists of a biographical scrapbook of Manitoba artist Tony Tascona, a photocopy of an unpublished compilation on the life of Tony Tascona, Tascona In Context: A Documentary History and Source Book by Kenneth James Hughes (Winnipeg: 1981), and an unpublished literary manuscript entitled McCleary Drope. The Tascona scrapbook includes copies of numerous newspaper clippings about Tascona, as well as copies of Tascona's personal documents such as sketches, correspondence, military service records, etc.

The fonds consists of a program entitled "Concert by the Faculty of the Imperial Academy of Music and Arts at the Royal Alexander Hotel, Saturday evening January 30, 1909 at 8:30." The performers were Milan Sokoloff on piano, Louis Persinger on violin, George Soeller on flute, Alexander Savine, voice, all of whom were accompanied by Fred M. Gee on the piano. Milan Sokoloff earned a LL.B. from the University of Manitoba in 1928.

The first accession (A.01-49) consists of lecture notes during R.A. Johnson's studies at the University of Manitoba, contributions to various periodicals on Linear and Nonlinear Circuits and Systems, his papers and thesis, notes on courses he had taught at the University of Manitoba, and his reports to the University of Manitoba, including reports on Graduate Programmes Fees, Report on Restructuring of the British Universities, Report on Credit Hour Allocation and Evaluation Methods for Fieldwork and Practica, and "The Structure of the University Year: Maximizing Flexibility and Quality." This accession also includes his research material. Johnson also donated his library of books to the University of Manitoba Libraries at this time.

The second accession (A.04-89) consists of seven series: Professor Johnson's correspondence and reference materials related to the Icelandic Collection at the University of Manitoba and the fundraising efforts for the same, his reference materials on theories of university administration, his reference materials and correspondence from the period that he taught one module of the Professional Practice Seminar & Examination (PPS) offered jointly by the Association of Professional Engineers of the Province of Manitoba (APEM) and the Continuing Education Division, three 3 computer diskettes regarding the PPS, his correspondence and copies of meeting minutes relating to service on the board of the Winnipeg Community and Long Term Care Authority (before its amalgamation with the Winnipeg Hospital Authority to form the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority in December of 1999), reference materials on the geographic and social context of the works of the English novelist Thomas Hardy, and three images of the early twentieth century University of Manitoba building in what is now Memorial Park.

The third accession (A10-70) consists of three series: documents regarding Johnson's employment history and career at the University of Manitoba, professional writing including reports and articles, and personal writing done for Icelandic publications.

The fourth accession (A12-135) consists primarily of research material collected by Johnson.

The first accession consists mainly of office files of the Manitoba Farm Bureau which were generated from 1965 to 1984. Also included are files produced prior to 1965 by the Manitoba Farm Bureau's predecessors. These files, arranged for the most part in their original chronological order, contain the following: by-laws, reports, submissions, minutes, news releases, and correspondence of the Manitoba Farm Bureau and its eighteen-member organizations. Also included are materials from outside related organizations such as L'Union Catholique des Cultivateurs, National Farmers Union, federations of agriculture of other provinces, etc. After the proper chronological sequencing, up to 1984, there are files which were not included in this manner. They cover other activities which took place during 1979 and 1980. A flood in the basement of the Manitoba Farm Bureau headquarters destroyed a number of earlier files. The five other accessions are largely unprocessed and consist of agricultural publications, files, reports, correspondence, by-laws, minutes, newsletters, press releases, memorandums, financial statements, resolutions, submissions, notices of meetings, mailing lists, press clippings, policies, and pamphlets and brochures regarding KAP and other agricultural organizations and issues.

A1993-092: This collection consists of numerous agricultural publications and one audio cassette tape concerning a camp music workshop.

A1996-032: This collection consists of files, reports, correspondence, and related materials pertaining to and documenting the history of the Keystone Agricultural Producers.

A1998-029: The collection consists of correspodence, by-laws, minutes, newsletters, press releases, memorandums, financial statements, resolutions, submissions, reports, notices of meetings, mailing lists, press clippings, policies, pamphlets and brochures, and periodicals regarding the Keystone Agricultural Producers and associated agricultural organizations and issues.
