The Robert Taylor fonds is a large collection of photographs in different formats. The collection has been organized into two main series (1) Printed Collection and (2) Audio-Visual Collection. The Printed Collection includes Taylor’s biographical records, professional records, draft texts of Taylor’s published books, printed photographs and a poster. The Audio-Visual Collection includes Taylor’s CD collection, slides, video recordings, audio cassette tapes and negatives.

The 8 images in cartes de visite format are as follows: Dominion Land Titles office (photographer unknown,1872-73); three First Nations individuals at an Aboriginal gravesite (Simon Duffin, 1873-1875?); early homestead building, family, and Red River Cart drawn by ox (Ryder Larsen, mid-1870s?); studio image of man posing as a hunter, Winnipeg (James Penrose, 1873?); Louis Riel and his councilors, (Ryder Larsen, 1869?); Red River settlement, showing the corner of Portage and Main (James Penrose, June 1872); land survey party, around the Red River Settlement (photographer and date unknown); two carioles drawn by dogs, possibly at the Red River settlement (photographer and date unknown).

This collection contains publications, research, and documentation by William G. Leitch, as well as a small collection of Ducks Unlimited annual reports and magazines.

The accession consists of brief notes and articles on the history of the choir; minutes of executive meetings (1964-1965, 1974-1999) and annual general meetings (1969-1999); the choir’s incoming and outgoing correspondence (1964-2000, and fragments from 2002-2003, 2009, 2011); some contracts and agreements (1966-1996); incomplete financial records (1967-1997); some records of fundraising efforts (1978-2006); choir bulletins and announcements (1970-1999); choir rehearsal attendance records (1981-1996); leaflets and programs advertising and chronicling local, national and international concerts (1943-2014); records and photographs of major tours and performances (including tours of Ukraine in 1978, 1982, 1990 and 1993, and tours of South America in 1985 and Western Europe in 1987); the Project 1000 celebrations of the Christianization of Ukraine in 1988 and the performance of Evhen Stankovych’s “Black Elegy” in 1992, both with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra; the choir’s 45th and 50th anniversary concerts in 1991 and 1996, etc); various choral groups (Children’s Choir, Chamber Choir) sponsored by the choir; newspaper clippings; sheet music; materials (mostly bulletins and newsletters) from various local choral and Ukrainian-Canadian organizations; photographs; VHS tapes; commercial LP albums and CDs produced by the choir; reel-to-reel master tapes of recording sessions as well as mini disc (MD) recordings of choir rehearsals; posters; and artefacts (primarily memorabilia from international tours).

Fonds comprises a labeled photograph album; loose photographs; newspaper clippings, including articles by or about T.G. Hamilton and Margaret Hamilton Bach; and carbon copies of minutes of some of the 1929 Hamilton experiments as well as drafts of two letters from Dr. Hamilton to European researchers.

Accession, use, and biographical information (1995, 2013)

A carefully labeled and annotated photograph album belonging to H.A.V. Green documenting the Hamilton séances, as well as 27 loose photographs that are either duplicates or different angles of the photographs in the album. One photo, taken with Hugh Arthur Reed's camera on 1 May 1929, presents a view from the left which may not exist in the Hamilton family fonds. There is also a program brochure from the Edinburgh Psychic College from 1935.

This collection consists of a photograph album, loose photographs, newspaper clippings, and carbon copies of minutes of psychic sittings which relate to the experiments of Dr. T.G. Hamilton.

A photograph in a holder, taken on March 10, 1930 at a sitting held at the Hamilton residence. The photograph cover lists the names of those present on 10 March 1930, including the name of the note-taker and the special scrutineer. A note explains the procedures which were followed to preclude fraud.

Mr. Green's copy (made with blue and black carbon) of a typescript of notes of sittings held at the Hamilton home in 1929, and two letters written by Dr. Hamilton in 1929. The cover reads "Mary M - Walter Phenomena, 1929 (Miniature Face-forms and Amorphous Teleplasms)." Mr. Green's copy does not include notes for all sittings during 1929.

"Spiritualism and Psychology: A Seance Puzzle: Talk with Imaginary Person: Thought Transference?", a clipping from what seems to be a British newspaper (nd). This clipping is likely not in the Hamilton family fonds (MSS 14).

This collection of newspaper clippings is largely about or by T.G. Hamilton and Lillian Hamilton Bach.

The fonds contains the constitution, membership, attendance and committee lists, notices of meetings, annual reports, papers, abstracts, questionnaires, correspondence, and minute books of the Scientific Club of Winnipeg.

The fonds consists of five series. They include: biographical information, personal correspondence & Justice of the Peace material, Western Baffin Eskimo Co-operative origins, general correspondence, research material & photograph collection including 326 photographs, 134 negatives & 29 Contact sheets.

This fonds consists of three accessions of digital material from the creator. The first accession (A09-64) is 2 DVDs of the transcripts of “The T.G. Hamilton Files”; the second (A10-79) is 2 sets of 10 DVDs (7 video discs, 2 text and image discs, and 1 text disc) of “The T.G. Hamilton Files (2010)”; the third (A15-60) is a hard drive containing several .mp4 video recordings, mostly documentary films about life after death, completed in 2015.

This fonds contains a memorial book “The Spirit Lives” (Hamilton, Ontario: Brown’s Enterprises, 1945) in a decorative box for the 29 September 1954 funeral service of Leon John Eekman (1880-1954), which contains the signatures of the attendees. Also in the box were 2 b/w photographs of a bedridden or recently deceased man (dated 12 September 1917, labeled “Diaconessenhuis Utrecht” on back) (this is almost certainly Eekman’s father Thomas Adam Eekman, who died on 12 September 1917 in Utrecht) & an obituary clipping for Leon John Eekman from a Victoria newspaper (photocopied 8 June 2015). It also contains a reproduction of the registration of death housed in the BC Archives at the Royal BC Museum, printed by the archivist during the processing of this collection on 25 June 2015.

This fonds contains séance notes and papers from Margaret Hamilton Bach concerning her psychic research.

This fonds contains photocopies of minutes & correspondence of the Toronto Society for Psychical Research (TSPR) and New Horizons Research Foundation (NHRF), 1972-81 (location of originals unknown; photocopied ca. 2001).

This fonds contains certificates, correspondence, meeting agenda and minutes, study course outlines, leaflets, newsletters, séance records and other ephemera, photographs, and other records from the personal files of Joe and Lillian Bain. It also includes several folders of material from the Survival Research Institute of Canada correspondence and research files relating to the Bains. Photocopies of the 2 envelopes were made on 8 June 2015.

This fonds comprises materials associated with Dr. Stanley Krippner’s study of the Brazilian “sensitive” Amyr Amiden. It includes a PowerPoint presentation (both in analog (annotated) and digital formats), academic publications, and “apports” (physical objects). The second accession contains apports and a leather pouch Krippner received from shaman Grandmother Fawn Journeyhawk.

This fonds consists of a 23-page scrapbook of photocopied newspaper clippings covering David Young’s early career as a medium (1966-1979); a printout of now assembled and scanned photocopies of news clippings about David Young that cover years 1975-1996, compiled by SRIC; and “Young Mediums Never Die, They Only Lose Their Bodies,” a tribute to David Young written by Walter Meyer zu Erpen from 1994-1997.

The collection contains the "diaries" (yearly journals), travel books and correspondence (mostly letters received) of L.B. Allen, along with miscellaneous mementos, news clippings, and drafts and copies of her published work. There are also materials about the correspondence of the Allen and Harper families, with drafts and copies of (mostly non-scientific) articles by Frank Allen. With the 1995 accrual, a number of nature and travel slides were added to the photograph collection. The collection also contains corresponding text used by L. B. Allen in slide shows, as well as design lectures.

Boxes 16, 17, and 18, as well as Box 2 of the photograph collection and one slide binder, contain material from the 1995 accrual. Other material from this accrual is integrated into the previously existing collection. Eight tape cassettes were also added.

The bulk of the 1046 items are photographs of Miss Allen, family members, friends and colleagues, of whom many were connected with the University of Manitoba. There are a few photographs of places, and some drawings by Miss Allen and others. The albums also contain some memorabilia and newsclippings. Most items in the albums are identified and dated. There also are a few enlargements of photographs which appeared in her published book, Frost. Most of the 195 slides are a sample of Miss Allen's slide shows, which she presented on numerous occasions throughout the country.

Separated from the collection are numerous family photographs, nature and travel slides (PC 42) and several tape cassettes (TC 28). The slides housed in the photograph collection are a representative sample of what was donated.
