This fonds consists of material relating to Nadine Boulay’s honours thesis in Women’s and Gender Studies (WGS) at the University of Manitoba. Boulay examined the ways fellow WGS students identified in terms of gender and sexuality. The fonds consists of a collection of approximately 90 hours of 70 taped interviews conducted by Sheila Rabinovitch from 1970 to 1981. The broadcasts range from partial programs to complete and final ones as aired on CBC Radio. Broadcast topics included such prominent historic Winnipeg personalities as Ralph Connor (a pseudonym for Reverend Charles William Gordon), Judge Lewis St. George Stubbs, and lawyer John MacAulay. Other topics include art and the Establishment, the double standard of women and aging, Manitoba small town newspapers, bridge as an obsession, the ethnic recording industry in Canada, women in Judaism, Virginia Satir and her views on family therapy, mandatory retirement, Hans Selye, ethnic groups in Manitoba, and fashion trends.

The second accession, A13-109, consists of a collection of 14 audio reels containing interviews and recordings conducted by Sheila Rabinovitch from approximately 1970 to 1981. Also included is a portion of textual research related to the taped interviews in both accessions. Furthermore, a small amount of textual material related to her personal and professional life are included, such as CBC contracts and documents related to her art collection and philanthropic interests. Broadcast and research subjects include prominent Manitoba personalities such as Ken Leishman, Ralph Connor (Rev. William Gordon), E. Cora Hind, Judge Lewis St. George Stubbs, John W. Dafoe, and others that contributed to the artistic, cultural and social environment.

This collection pertains to the publication of The Poplarfield & District Millenium Album 1900-2000, written and compiled by Edward Ledohowski, initially published in 2001. The nine folders contain textual and photographic records, as well as digital content on 4 compact discs. The textual files contain drafts of text for the books, a descriptive index of the files of negatives, and a hardcover 2nd edition of the book. The photographic negatives comprise many of the images used for the book, and range in size from 35mm to 11.5cm x 7.5cm). The compact disks contain digital copies of photographs and captions, a digital copy of the book, and photographs of research material on Ukrainians in Canada from 1919.

David Punter fonds

A2013-084 is divided into 9 series. They include brief to the Board of Trustees of the Winnipeg School Division No.1, correspondence, Manitoba Environmental Council, Canadian Biotechnology Advising Committee, Garrison Diversion, endangered species and spaces, forestry, East Side Lake Winnipeg, and research material.

A2014-129 consists of Prof. Punter’s correspondence while employed by the federal Department of Tourism & Rural Development (1964-69) and by the University of Manitoba (1969-2013). It also includes the correspondence of the Botany Department’s Community Service Extension program (1968-2005); materials concerning Prof Punter’s involvement in several University of Manitoba councils and committees (1968-2012); materials concerning the research of several graduate students (1978-1990s); as well as a few clippings, articles, reports and bulletins.

A2015-012 consists of three series: Punter as forensics expert, committees and organizations, and Canadian parks.

A2016-063 consists of 7 series. They include: articles; lectures, workshops and invited papers; Department of Botany; conferences; committee correspondence; research material; and 2 photographs and 60 slides

David Rabinovitch fonds

The first accession (TC 124, A07-47) contains 19 hours of 36 taped documentaries and interviews of Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) radio shows by David Rabinovitch dating from May 1970 to May 1973. The lengths of each production varies from 15 minute segments to 30 and 60 minute documentary programs. The interviews deal with then-current cultural issues in Canada and the United States ranging from anti-war demonstrations, race relations, drugs, the French community in Manitoba, and many others. In addition to David Rabinovitch’s interviews the fonds also contains CBC archived radio programs from 1927, 1942, 1949 and 1953 on topics such as Canada’s Jubilee, Road to Dominion, Davidson Dunton, and Hear Canada Grow, respectively.

The second accession (MSS 421, A13-110) contains research materials, transcripts, correspondence, photographs, and notes regarding documentaries and other projects Rabinovitch produced. Additionally this accession contains audio reels, U-matic tapes, film reels, Betacam tapes, and VHS tapes relating to projects Rabinovitch wrote, directed, or produced. Notably, there is comprehensive documentation and corresponding film materials for "Hard Times" a documentary series Rabinovitch produced for the CBC.

Margaret Oliver fonds

The fonds contains a scrapbook which covers events during Margaret Oliver's (nee Hammett) academic years from the end of grade 11 (1944) through her second year in a post-graduate laboratory technician program, as well as a few items in the years following (until 1956), most of which took place at the University of Manitoba. There is a trophy for athletic excellence in the Faculty of Science from 1946-1949.
The scrapbook also contains Margaret Oliver's Bachelor of Science diploma, and the accompanying folder holds her husband's (Thomas Oliver) Master of Science diploma from the same year (1949), as well as a 100th anniversary page for the University of Manitoba (taken from the Winnipeg Free Press in 1977).

Hamilton Files (2010)”; the third (A15-60) is a hard drive containing several .mp4 video recordings, mostly documentary films about life after death, completed in 2015.

This fonds contains a memorial book “The Spirit Lives” (Hamilton, Ontario: Brown’s Enterprises, 1945) in a decorative box for the 29 September 1954 funeral service of Leon John Eekman (1880-1954), which contains the signatures of the attendees. Also in the box were 2 b/w photographs of a bedridden or recently deceased man (dated 12 September 1917, labeled “Diaconessenhuis Utrecht” on back) (this is almost certainly Eekman’s father Thomas Adam Eekman, who died on 12 September 1917 in Utrecht) & an obituary clipping for Leon John Eekman from a Victoria newspaper (photocopied 8 June 2015). It also contains a reproduction of the registration of death housed in the BC Archives at the Royal BC Museum, printed by the archivist during the processing of this collection on 25 June 2015.
