The fonds consists of 17 letters from Reverend Henry Budd to the Reverend John Smithurst about the conditions in Cumberland and the Pas in Northern Manitoba during the period 1841 to 1851. Budd discusses conditions of the mission, relating information about supplies, the weather, the response of the natives to religious instruction and other daily details of missionary life.

Frederick G. Stambrook fonds

The fonds consists of Dr. Frederick G. Stambrook's manuscripts, articles and lecture notes pertaining to his academic teaching career at the University of Sydney and the University of Manitoba. The fonds also consists of material pertaining to: his research related to the microfilm project focusing on the German and British foreign offices in the first half of the 20th century; Germany from the 1920s -1960s, -- including its rearmament in the 1930s; the world banking crisis in the 1920s-1930s; and his research on Bukovyna (Bukovina). In addition there are textual records on the Canadian Soccer Association, which Dr. Stambrook was involved with for many years. The fonds also contains 2 coloured photographs, 12 microfilm reels, 6 computer diskettes, and 13 floppy disks.

The fonds is divided into nine series: administrative material, papers and presentations given by AIM co-investigators at various national and international conferences, material relating to the 1996 AIM interviews, material relating to the National Evaluation of the Cost-Effectiveness of Home Care, material relating to the 2001 AIM interviews, material relating to the 2005 and 2006 AIM interviews, material relating to the study’s involvement in international research on aging, publications of the study, including several theses, and a series of 28 posters used in presentations. Two audio cassette tapes containing recordings of Betty Havens speaking at conferences are included in Tc 140, and a 3.5-inch floppy diskette containing material relating to a diabetes literature review is included in El 10.

The fonds consists of material relating to the history of Eastern European communities in Manitoba. This includes over 400 photographs, almost 7000 slides, close to 200 contact sheets, close to 3000 negatives, correspondence, maps, research notes, church directories, church inventories, and architectural evaluations of Manitoba Eastern European churches. The collection also includes taped interviews with or about various church artists or architects. Also included in the collection are records related to the research and preparation of the manuscript "Monuments to Faith: Ukrainian Churches in Manitoba," as well as miscellaneous records of the Manitoba Eastern European Heritage Society.

The collection consists of textual records in the form of published documents, correspondence and working papers reflective of Nordrum’s involvement with women’s organizations and activities. In her capacity as policy analyst and Junior League member, Nordrum participated in a variety of organizations dedicated to addressing issues of gender equality, empowerment and access. The type of groups and the issues on her agenda were conditioned by events, such as the Meech Lake Accord hearings and the murder of fourteen women in Montreal. Most notably, she was involved in the creation of an organization whose purpose was assisting women enter the political arena. Overall, the fonds provides some useful insight into the concerns of women in the 1980s and 90s and their collective attempts to address inequities.

The fonds is comprised of three accessions. The first contains a photograph album with photos, newspaper clippings, programs from school events in the 1930s and other documents, as well as loose photographs and baby books for T.G. and Lillian Hamilton's twins, Arthur Lamont (1915-1918) and James Drummond (1915-1980). It also includes the Forrester family prayer book (printed in 1771). The second accession derives from Lillian Hamilton and James D. Hamilton’s personal records, including psychical research publications, photographs and files pertaining to some of T.G. Hamilton’s psychic experiments. The third accession consists of a final draft of an article meant to be published in the Winter 2016 issue of the Paranormal Review.

The Algonquian Conference is an annual conference that has now been held for more than 30 years. It is scheduled for the last weekend of October and attracts a large audience, since both academics and non-academics interested in the subject can contribute papers. Organizers usually put out a call for papers in April or early May. The program committee has the right to decline unsuitable papers.

The fonds consists of organizational, fiscal, and editorial records, the cumulative index, orders, and type-settings (camera-ready artwork) for papers of the Algonquian Conference.

The fonds consists of Dr. Joan Finkle de Peña’s manuscripts, articles and lecture notes pertaining to her academic teaching career at St. Louis University, and the University of Manitoba. The fonds also consists of material pertaining to her research in Puerto Rico when she was a graduate student, as well as a her academic research work with her studies of the Inuit of the North, during her tenure as a faculty member with the Department of Anthropology, University of Manitoba. In addition there are textual records pertaining to her involvement with various national and international professional associations, including the Sigma Xi Scientific Society. The collection also contains a total of 4624 photographs, 90 negatives, and 1,125 photo slides.

The collection consists of several hundred research note cards with collected data on the origin and location of place names to settlements, townships, lakes, rivers, forts, islands, creeks, and other geographical sites in Manitoba.

A separate set of note cards provides English translations to many of the Indian names. Some publications on Manitoba place names are included in the collection as well as a few of the writer's own historical essays on Manitoba sites and history. The collection also includes the author's biographical essay on Arnold Brigden.

It also consists of rare periodicals published by the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, National Youth Organization, and War Veteran's Association. This collection is a valuable contribution to the Archives of the Ukrainian Canadian Experience - covering material of major Ukrainian organizations in Winnipeg.
