The collection consists of financial statements, notices of meetings, correspondence, agendas, proxies, minutes, applications, membership listings, draft agreements, memorandums, and by-laws concerning the Winnipeg Commodity Clearing Ltd. The material predominantly concerns the transition of the commodity clearing responsibilities for the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange from the Winnipeg Commodity Clearing Ltd. to the Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation and the subsequent dissolution of the WCCL.

The fonds consists of vitae, biographical sketches, photograph, professional correspondence, materials relating to awards, speeches and addresses, conference presentations, drafts and copies of publications, university course materials, and papers about consultations and review board activities. Helen Glass’ contribution to professional nursing and health associations - provincial, national and international - constitute a large portion of the fonds. These include the Canadian Nurses Association, Canadian Nurses Foundation, Victorian Order of Nurses, Canadian University Nursing Students Association, Western Region Canadian Association of University Schools of Nursing, World Health Organization, International Council of Nurses, Royal College of Nursing, Manitoba Association of Registered Nurses, Manitoba Nursing Research Institute, St. Amant Centre, Manitoba Association of Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Economic Interest Group, Indian and Inuit Nurses Council, Catholic Health Association of Manitoba, Canadian Public Health Association, Canadian Health Economics Research Association, Manitoba Organization of Nurses Association, Canadian Society for International Health, Manitoba Public Health Association and the Canadian Association for the History of Nursing.

Winnipeg Commodity Clearing Ltd.

The collection consists predominantly of financial statements and stock certificates of the Winnipeg Grain & Produce Exchange Clearing Association. The collection contains correspondence of Association management with other members, financial institutions and government departments. Also, the general activities of the Association are documented through minute books and other textual records pertaining to annual general meetings.

Pugh Family Accrual

The collection was created by Margaret Pugh who organized and preserved the family's history. The fonds consists of materials from four families linked to the Pugh Family: Broderick, Wilson, Stewart and Pawling. The fonds includes a large amount of correspondance and other textual material dating back to the mid 19th century up to 1998. A large quantity of Postcards from the late 1800s to the post-war period make up the niche portion of the collection. Margaret's father, Frederick Pugh, worked in the Research Bureau of the T.E. Eaton Company through the early 1900s until 1938, included in the collection is correspondance between him and executives of the company. Also contained in the collection are textual records of Margaret's career at Deer Lodge Hospital. These records provide some insight into the administrative activities of the dietary department at the veteran's institution. In addition, Margaret's collection of cookbooks and recipes provide a comprehensive insight into gendered domestic consumption and advertising in the post-war period. Overall, the records provide a vivid illustration of the activities of a family clan that lived in Southern Ontario during the 19th century and Winnipeg during and after the Edwardian period.

Andrew Suknaski fonds

In 1987, having wearied of transporting his personal papers during his frequent moves, Suknaski burned twenty years of records in a bonfire in his backyard. What remains of his papers encompasses the years 1977-1992. The collection comprises 15 linear feet. There are drafts of many of his published works as well as correspondence with literary figures like Eli Mandel, John Newlove, Robert Kroetsch and Kristjana Gunnars. The fond contains many unpublished poems and several drafts of the films that Suknaski worked on for the National Film Board and CBC. Perhaps the most valuable portion of the collection are the unpublished manuscripts that Suknaski worked on during the 1980s, including Divining the West, Ussuri Line and In Search of Parinti/History of the Roumanians in Western Canada.

Melinda McCracken fonds

The fonds consists of ten series: Biographical; Correspondence; Literary Career; Manitoba Energy and Mines; Organizations; Academic Career; Miscellaneous; Original Letters; and Photographs and Audio Tapes

Correspondence is separated into two sub-series: Professional and Personal. The professional correspondence generally deals with the publication of McCracken's work, job applications, and grant information. There are also letters from several notable people including: Margaret Laurence, Eric Wilson, Timothy Findley, Peter C. Newman, Brian Mulroney, and David Suzuki. The personal correspondence includes letters from her father, brother and mother, and her friends: Sarah Yates-Howorth, David, Heather Robertson (see MSS 77), Joy Tataryn, and Myfwany Philips. As well, there is extensive correspondence with poet Coney Burns during the 1970s and 1980s, including samples of his poetry.

The Literary Career series is divided into research, drafts, and published materials. There are newspaper clippings and book reviews regarding her literary work. As well, there is a small section of published work by other authors.

The Manitoba Energy and Mines series includes performance appraisals from 1986 and 1988, as well as speeches and other material that she produced during her years there.

The Organizations series includes records from The Writers' Union of Canada, Re:Visions, St. Norbert Arts and Cultural Centre, the Payment for Public Use/Book Committee, The Status of Women Writers Committee, the Manitoba Arts Council, the Manitoba Writers' Guild, Women and Words, the Manitoba Film Board, and The Canada Council.

The Academic Career series includes a University of Manitoba transcript, English notes from Red River Community College, and material from Writers Who Teach Writing Roundtable 1997, and Artists in the School 1997.

The Miscellaneous series includes ephemera from 1969, including tickets to see the newly formed band, Led Zeppelin, as well as a receipt from a John Lennon/Yoko Ono concert in Toronto. There are also several folders of personal writings that include information on love, pregnancy, adoption, unemployment, and her college course, as well as other notes. These personal writings are considered confidential.

The Photograph Collection (PC 147) consists of 69 photographs, and the Audio Collection (TC 93) consists of 18 audio tapes and 1 record.

Colleen Helgason Nelson fonds

William Neville fonds

The William F.W. Neville Collection is organized into three series. The first series consists primarily of material relating to his years on Winnipeg's City Council, the second series contains his personal and university material, and the third series relates to his time as Executive Assistant to Sidney Spivak.

The City Council series contains correspondence, unpublished minutes and research reports from many of the committees that Neville served on during his years on City Council. These include the Executive Policy Committee, the Historic Buildings Committee, the Committee on Environment, the Committee on Protection, Parks and Culture as well as numerous ad hoc committees. As a city councillor Neville took an active interest in heritage and artistic issues and the collection is strong in these areas. As well there is much information concerning major capital development projects in Winnipeg during the 1980s. These include the Core Area Agreement, the North Portage Development and issues surrounding the development of Plan Winnipeg.

The personal and university series contains documents relating to the establishment of the Canadian Studies program at the University of Manitoba which Neville was responsible for as Coordinator of Canadian Studies from 1978 to 1982. Also included are materials regarding the Symons Commission. This commission, headed by Prof. T.H.B. Symons of Trent University, strongly criticized Canadian universities for their general neglect of Canadian Studies.

This series also contains lecture notes for courses in International Relations and Politics that Neville taught at Trent University in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Department of Political Studies material from the University of Manitoba, dated from 1981 to 1992, and drafts of Neville's Free Press columns as well as material from the many community organizations that Neville has been involved with throughout his career. These include the Manitoba Heritage Council, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Winnipeg Contemporary Dancers and the Winnipeg Folk Festival.

Personal correspondence, newspaper clippings regarding his term as student body President at the University of Manitoba, and material relating to his work on the 1974 election campaign for Duff Roblin are also part of this series.

The third series contains material relating to Neville's work as Executive Assistant to Sidney Spivak, leader of the Progressive Conservative Party.

This accession consists of two parts: 1/Victor Deneka’s architectural drawings for virtually all of the buildings – Ukrainian Catholic churches, administrative buildings, and social centres; Ukrainian-Canadian secular institutions; commercial and industrial buildings; and residential buildings – that he designed, as well as technical specifications, and legal and financial materials, for several major projects. It also includes some plans for buildings designed by other architects. 2/ Materials collected by Deneka for his unfinished project on Ukrainian-Canadian church architecture. These include photographs, photo sheets and display boards, photo transparencies, postcards and textual materials.

The fonds documents Heather Robertson's life, including her literary and academic career, from 1942 to 1992. There are drafts of many of her books, reviews of her books and in some instances reviews or articles of interest to her. There is correspondence between the author and her publishers and editors, and subjects she interviewed and wrote about. As well, there is personal correspondence with her parents between the years 1969 and 1991. These letters document both her private life and her literary career. There are also dozens of articles that Robertson published between the years 1965 and 1992. Pertaining to her academic career, there is a large scrapbook that contains pictures, awards, and other information that spans her entire public school career, as well as some postgraduate academic work. There are also two drafts of Robertson's M.A. thesis for English Literature at Columbia University. Besides copies of books that Robertson wrote, there are also several publications that she used in her research.

There is a photograph collection (PC 7) containing over 1000 photographs, and a tape collection (TC 67) that contains 11 audio tapes.
