The records contain detailed information on livestock transportation & sales, collective bargaining agreements, labour grievances & arbitration as well as environmental concerns in dealing with waste disposal.

Eileen Sykes fonds

The first accession consists of literary manuscripts to her books, poems, tape recordings of her interviews, and some scattered correspondence. As a participant in Dr. T. Glendenning Hamilton's experiments on parapsychology, Syke's few notes on those studies are included here. The fonds also includes an Ouija board.

A1979-014 includes lecture notes, manuscripts and published articles, radio and television scripts, maps, photographs, newspaper clippings, magazine articles and scrapbooks. In addition, there are three boxes of Indian Legends, recorded in the scrapbooks of Alex Grisdale of the Scanterbury Indian Reservation (2 boxes) and transcribed by Mrs. Shipley (1 box).
The map collection is noteworthy for its maps of the old Indian trails which crossed the prairie provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
The photograph collection contains pictures of historic sites throughout Manitoba. It is particularly valuable, however, for its record of old and new, urban and rural transportation in Manitoba (e.g. Red River carts, streetcars, railways, steamships, dog sleds and air transport). It provides a pictorial record of hydro developments in northern Manitoba and of the growth and demise of northern towns and settlements. Major and cottage industries, wildlife, flora and fauna of Manitoba are included. Among the portraits are native peoples, early missionaries and settlers and contemporary civic minded individuals. The research materials are on miscellaneous topics paralleling those of the picture collection.

A2005-082 consists of Nan Shipley’s unpublished autobiography Most of it was fun; unpublished manuscript Women of Fort Albany, correspondence, and numerous short stories and articles.

William Neville fonds

The fonds consists of Neville's papers as city councillor including correspondence and reports of the various committees on which he served. Committee reports include the Historical Buildings Committee and the Winnipeg Library Committee reports. Neville chaired the Committee on Environment and also sat on the Committee on Recreation and Social Services, the Committee on Protection, Parks and Culture and various ad hoc committees dealing with Access to Information, Public Libraries and the General Government By-law. Also included are papers relating to the Manitoba Heritage Council, the Historic Sites and Monuments Board, and miscellaneous writings, speeches, and manuscripts/drafts of columns. The collection also includes Neville's university papers as assistant to the President of the University of Manitoba.

The 2005 accessions are divided into six series: biographical material, correspondence, articles and writings, organizations and conferences, other interests and issues, and photographs. The 2006 accession contains Neville’s extensive correspondence, samples of his writings in completed published and handwritten draft form, and a large amount of information related to causes he was involved in and people he was friends or with whom he wasacquainted. This accession strongly emphasizes his work as a city councilor, executive assistant and political science instructor, as well as samples of the many newspaper columns and speeches he has written or presented between 1970 and 2006.

The 2009 accession is divided into twelve series: biographical material and awards, speeches, citations and commentaries, articles and book chapters, Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada, Manitoba Heritage Council, Heritage Winnipeg, City of Winnipeg, Winnipeg Public Library, correspondence, academic material, Meech Lake Accord research, and research material.

The photograph collection consists of 31 photographs, 10 slides, and 1 videocassette. The tape collection consists of 5 audio reels.

The Henry Kalen fonds is a veritable photographic A-Z of Manitoba culture, geography, architecture, and industry with a significant representation of western provinces and Ontario as well.

The Henry Kalen fonds has been organized into 3 categories comprising 28 series. The textual records (MSS 256) consist of reference questions and correspondence, biographical/miscellaneous material, books, and indexes. The photograph collection (PC 219) is comprised of prints of jobs, prints, small prints, postcard collection, postcards, black and white postcard collection, postcard album collection, album prints, slides by subject, slides of old Ontario/Saskatchewan/Montreal, etc., stock slides, slides by chronological order, miscellaneous slides, slides of large projects, largeformat transparenices, negatives, job files, architectural negatives, unnumbered job negative files, photographs of Henry Kalen's "One-Man Show" at the Winnipeg Art Gallery (1966), transparencies, negatives and miscellaneous slides, oversized prints, and oversized transparencies. In total, the photograph collection consists of 113,783 slides, 69,774 negatives, 13,125 transparencies, and 10,584 prints. The tape collection (TC 128) consists of 7 audio-cassettes.

The tape collection consists of 8 audio-cassettes featuring recordings of Andrej Sakharov's visit to Winnipeg on February 17, 1989, audio recordings of Ukrainian-Canadian Conferences and Ukrainian visitors to Winnipeg. The 2008 accession consists of Reverend Baran's identification documents, education documents, travel documents, material on his awards and honors, his father's (Viktor Baran) diary, and a photograph collection consisting of 208 photographs depicting his childhood and 50 years of priesthood. Also included is a CD containing digital reproductions of items in the fonds.

William Abraham Anderson fonds

The fonds consists of two documents created by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada. The first is a printout of a document titled Towards A New Paradigm for Scholarly Communication - Discussion Paper prepared by the AUCC-CARL/ABRC Task Force on Academic Libraries and Scholarly Communication which was published in electronic form on the AUCC website, November 8, 1995. This document outlines the problems and opportunities facing academic libraries in regard to academic communication issues in the 1990's. The second document is a published brochure titled the Changing World of Scholarly Communication: Challenges and Choices for Canada and is the final report of the AUCC-CARL/ABRC Task Force on Academic Libraries and Scholarly Communication in November 1996.

Margaret Avison fonds

The initial collection consists of several hundred unpublished poems written by Margaret Avison between 1935 and the late 1970s. The second accession, received in 1996, consists of correspondence from various literary associates between the 1950s and the mid-1990s. In several instances other writers and poets send samples of their work for Avison's comments. There is a lengthy correspondence between Avison and the American poet Fredrick Bock. The Collection includes two theses about the works of Margaret Avison and several of her unpublished essays and poems.

The third accrual consists of photographs, audiotapes, and material relating to Avison's work such as worksheets, manuscripts, published copies, and reviews. It also includes correspondence from the 1980s to 2001.

Mundie, professor of business administration, and dean of the Asper School of Business who speaks about the Faculty of Management at the University of Manitoba (November 25, 1986); and poet Anne Marriott (1913-1997) who is interviewed at her home in North Vancouver, B.C., (February 14, 1989).

Alison (Campbell) Hermon fonds

The fonds contains textual, photographic and digital records. The textual records include handwritten and typewritten correspondence relating to séances and spirit communication between family members. The photographs are black and white and color images of members of the Campbell and Hamilton families. The digital records consist of one compact disc of scanned images of family members and another compact disc with scanned copies of minutes relating to the Sylvia Barber séances (A.10-82). There are 32 physical photographs and 277 digital photographs comprising the photograph collection.
