The initial collection consists of several hundred unpublished poems written by Margaret Avison between 1935 and the late 1970s. The second accession, received in 1996, consists of correspondence from various literary associates between the 1950s and the mid-1990s. In several instances other writers and poets send samples of their work for Avison's comments. There is a lengthy correspondence between Avison and the American poet Fredrick Bock. The Collection includes two theses about the works of Margaret Avison and several of her unpublished essays and poems.

The third accrual consists of photographs, audiotapes, and material relating to Avison's work such as worksheets, manuscripts, published copies, and reviews. It also includes correspondence from the 1980s to 2001.

The fonds is seperated into seven series. They include biographical and personal material, correspondence, School of Nursing, research on the history of Public Health Nursing in Manitoba, university essays, artifacts, and the photograph collection that contains 3 photographs, two videocassettes and a reel to reel film.

The Konantz collection consists of diaries, correspondence, speeches, newspaper clippings, photographs and household records. Seven small diaries were kept sporadically from 1944 to 1961. One diary contains descriptions of her trip to England during the war in 1944; two others concern her South American trip in 1955; another diary is undated with personal jottings; one includes notes from her Civil Defense Course in Britain in 1956; another concerns the period spent in England with the Women's Voluntary Service in 1956. The seventh pertains to her trip to the United Arab Republic (Egypt) in 1966. None of the diaries contains large amounts of information or personal reflections; the 1944 war-time diary is the most nearly complete.

The correspondence is limited with regard to her political life and her work with the United Nations. The outgoing correspondence is mostly directed to her family and friends. The incoming correspondence, mainly originating from her associates at the UN, contains comments and inquiries about her travels abroad. Many letters and cards express sympathy to her at the time of her mother's death, and, later, to her family at the time of her own death in 1967.

The collection contains only six of her speeches, four of which are in draft form. Several groups of notes which she later incorporated into her speeches are included. There is a large and diverse collection of memoranda, newsletters and reports from the Women's Volunteer Service, UNICEF, etc. There are several UN reports on various international topics such as apartheid, troubles in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and the Nobel Peace Prize.

Most of the newspaper clippings concern her mother, Mrs. Edith Rogers. The remainder deal with her life, marriage, volunteer work, election campaigns, and her work for UNICEF. Some other clippings pertain to her personal war efforts and her work with the UN.
The financial records are incomplete. Included are a list of charitable donations and receipts, documents pertaining to a Trust Fund set up by her father, a copy of her will, and an assortment of receipts and bills from her trips abroad.

The five scrapbooks range in date of origin from 1922 to 1961. The first deals with her early life and contains wedding announcements and other notices. Three others contain her Women's Volunteer Service clippings and her 1944 trip to England, assorted memorabilia such as a picture drawn by her son, her mother's wedding invitation and clippings, her 1963 political campaign and victory in Winnipeg South. The last contains clippings and articles of her years with the UN.

The fonds contains a scrapbook which covers events during Margaret Oliver's (nee Hammett) academic years from the end of grade 11 (1944) through her second year in a post-graduate laboratory technician program, as well as a few items in the years following (until 1956), most of which took place at the University of Manitoba. There is a trophy for athletic excellence in the Faculty of Science from 1946-1949.
The scrapbook also contains Margaret Oliver's Bachelor of Science diploma, and the accompanying folder holds her husband's (Thomas Oliver) Master of Science diploma from the same year (1949), as well as a 100th anniversary page for the University of Manitoba (taken from the Winnipeg Free Press in 1977).

A1980-017, A1986-047: Contains research material used in writing her book Frederick Philip Grove (1973)*. Includes correspondence, interviews (tapes and typescripts), research notes and news articles. There are also copies of three articles on the Graphic Press plus a paper on "Friedrich Hebbel" delivered to the English Club in Simcoe, Ontario (1932). The fifteen tapes have been transferred to the Tape Collection, TC 2.

The Collection gives a glimpse of the rural Manitoba towns in which Frederick Grove lived and taught. The private interviews, although based on somewhat vague recollections, reflect the communities' attitude and feelings toward Grove, especially those of former students, and show a more personal, intimate aspect of Grove's rather unique character and lifestyle.

TC 24 (A1980-017): The tape collection consists of a description of the original project for linguistic study of the Scotch-Cree dialect called Bungi ; transcriptions of all tapes as made by the Indian History Film Project, and the spectrograms and analysis of Margaret Stobie's dialectal study.

The fonds consists of two North-West Territories Public School Leaving Examinations booklets from June 1897 and June 1898. The Department of Education in Medicine Hat was part of the North-West Territories until the provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta were created out of the Territories in 1905. Although the first schools in Alberta were founded by Catholic and Protestant missionaries in the mid-nineteenth century, the North-West Territories School Ordinance of 1884 established a dual confessional system of Catholic and Protestant schooling based on the Quebec model. A photocopy of a group photograph including Ms. Ireland and her father, Thomas, owner of the local brewery, is also included.

The fonds consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings, personal journals, education material, teaching material including visually impaired material, drafts of articles and manuscripts, published articles, photographs, ephemera, unpublished fiction and non-fiction including plays, book reviews, poetry, material regarding the senior citizen's writing group, Terry King, Foster Parent's Plan, the Assiniboine Slopes Ecological Reserve, and patient rights. Included are several copies of her published books and anthologies in which she was published. The fonds also consists of biographical information about Barton's family members, correspondence from the family between 1951 and 1997, handwritten notes and excerpts from manuscripts, and reviews and correspondence regarding her book "A Slice of Life."

The A2011-095 accession is divided into 6 series. They include interviews, correspondence, publications, research material, photographs, and audio tapes. In total the photograph collection consists of 490 photographs, 20 negatives, 1393 slides, and 16 video cassettes. The tape collection consists of 13 audio cassettes and 1 micro cassette.

The A2018-030 accession is divided into 7 series: Artists, Electronic Records, Interviews, Photographs, Publications, Research and Slides. The contents of this fonds contains information pertaining to the work that Marie Bouchard carried out throughout her 11 years in Baker Lake. The Artist series includes material pertaining to individuals such as Jessie Oonark and Marion Tuu’luq, detailing information related to various exhibitions they participated in. The series of interviews conducted by Marie Bouchard throughout the 1990s chronicles the lives and artistic practice of several different Baker Lake artists, while the Photographs and Slides series include many different examples of the type of artwork being produced in Baker Lake. The collection also includes different types of publications concerning artist’s perspectives on their own work, exhibitions, and the important issue of Indigenous representation in artistic spaces

The fonds consists of seven series. The first series, personal, consists of Marion Lewis' curriculum vitae. The second series, correspondence, is divided into 4 sub-series. The first sub-series is comprised of various professional and work-related correspondence, both incoming and outgoing, created during the years 1944 through 1996. The correspondence in this series revolves mainly around blood grouping work. The next 3 sub-series revolve around correspondence generated due to an international group Lewis was a part of for many years, the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT). The third series is comprised of records generated by Dr. Bruce Chown. It is divided into two sub-series, the first being chronologically organized correspondence, and the second being research notes. Much of this series is restricted. The fourth series is comprised of reprints of over 140 published articles authored or coauthored by Lewis. The fifth series consists of unpublished articles and lectures given by Lewis throughout her career. The sixth series consists of research done by Lewis when she worked with Dr. Chown. The series is made up of three sub-series. The first contains research done on the blood groups of Hutterites and includes blood group genealogies. The second contains research on Aboriginal and Inuit blood types and contains blood group genealogies, field notes and lists of individuals. The third sub-series consists of miscellaneous research. This series is restricted.

The seventh series is PC 167. It consists of 156 photographs, 468 slides, including 30 glass lantern slides, and a reel-to-reel audio tape. Two of the photos are of Marion Lewis. The rest are photos of individuals whose blood was tested by Lewis and Chown in the 1950s and 1960s. Dr. Chown took most of the slides during a research trip to Alaska in 1960. The majority of them are of Alaskan wildflowers. Lewis used the other slides during her lectures and presentations. Dr. Chown used the lantern slides for research purposes in the 1950s and the reel-to-reel tape was used by Lewis to demonstrate laboratory methods. Some of the photographs are restricted. The eighth series is TC 106. It consists of two mini audiocassettes of a speech given by Lewis.

The fonds consists of black and white photographs of diploma and degree students in the Faculty of Agriculture and Home Economics, Tache Hall student residence, and the Home Economics building.

The fonds primarily consists of reports, minutes, notes, letters, and finances in relation to the numerous organizations Meadmore was involved with. While the majority of the records were created in Winnipeg, the series ‘Assembly of First Nations’ contains records created throughout Canada. The fonds also includes photographs of an event organized by Kinew Housing Incorporated, “Let`s Rap About A.I.D.S.: Putting the Puzzle Together” board game, and two VHS.

The fonds consists of a newspaper clipping, correspondence, and surveys relating to the Married Students' Club of the University of Manitoba and their movement to establish student housing on the University's campus.

The fonds consists primarily of the free thought lectures of M.J. Gauvin delivered between 1909 and 1940 and his correspondence. There are also personal and biographical memorabilia and correspondence of the Gauvin-Becker families, as well as articles and news clippings relating to religion and free thought. Gauvin's voluminous library on free thought, religion, and anti-religion was donated to the University of Manitoba Libraries and is catalogued and available for use. The fonds also contains 54 pamphlets and individually catalogued ephemera on ethics, Christianity, and parapsychology (MSS 90) and 178 photographs (PC 36).

The fonds consists of over 1,000 unpublished, type-written poems, some lyrics to his self composed songs, and a few photographs.

The fonds consists of letters written to the family of Martin Platz while he was held as a Prisoner of War during the years 1941 until 1945. The fonds also contains information about parcels sent to Platz (from family, the Canadian Red Cross Society and the Scottish Red Cross Society), newspaper clippings, a timeline and map of Platz’s prisoner experience created by a family member and a USB stick containing some digitized images of newspaper clippings.

The accession consists almost exclusively of photographs (and post cards) chronicling the private life of the Martynec family in Paris (1935-1941), German-occupied western Ukraine (1941-1944), the Karlsfeld and Berchtesgaden Displaced Persons camps in Germany (1945-1948), and in Winnipeg (1949-1951). Family members dated and identified most photographs. Apart from several 1941 Paris photographs of Olia Konovalets, widow of assassinated OUN founder and leader Evhen Konovalets (1891-1938), who fell victim to Soviet agent Pavel Sudoplatov in Rotterdam, there are virtually no photographs reflecting the political activities of Volodymyr Martynec during the years prior to 1945. The Displaced Person camp photographs, and those chronicling the family’s first years in Winnipeg, reflect their extensive participation in Ukrainian community life, and to a lesser extent political involvement. Photographs of close and more distant relatives and friends (in western Ukraine, Brazil, Canada, the United Kingdom and the USA) also make up a small part of the collection.

The fonds consists of course materials (including outlines, tests, lecture notes and required readings) from Dr. Brodsky's courses at the University of Manitoba. Included also are research materials, articles he had written and published, and a small amount of correspondence.

The fonds displays a wealth of background information on the state of Aboriginal Peoples in Canada in the late-20th and early-21st centuries, as well as showing the depth and versatility of a uniquely gifted artist. The fonds consists of four series related to the life and career of Marvin Francis. The material documents his writing career as a poetry and prose writer with an indexed collection based on typewritten and handwritten manuscripts. Included are drafts of poetry, short stories, and stage and radio plays. Also in the collection is extensive secondary information reflective of his career as a poet, playwright, visual artist and actor, his work as a creative writing instructor, his participation in writing festivals and readings, and his work as a principal member of artistic groups such as the Manitoba Aboriginal Writers Collective, the Urban Shaman art gallery and the Manitoba Writers Guild. PC 250 consists of 6 VHS videocassettes and 2 mini digital videocassettes. The tape collection (TC 141) consists of 7 audio cassettes, 6 mini audio cassettes, and 7 compact discs. EL 12 consists of 8 3.5" computer diskettes.

The fonds consists of Mary Wawrykow's biographies, tributes, awards, appointments, correspondence from John Diefenbaker, Duff Roblin and Edward Schreyer and her collection of photographs.

A pencil drawn portrait of Spiritualist medium David Patrick Young (1936-1994), drawn in 1979 by artist Gil R. Urmeneta, and the written account of her own near-death experience on 26 December 2004, as told to and typed by Alan Holmes.

The fonds consists of material related to Mary’s life as an artist, from her early years in Ottawa and Montreal, to her later years in Winnipeg. Included is information about her education, her years teaching, and her transition to being a full time artist. Personal and professional correspondence is included, along with information detailing her professional life as an artist, such as finances. research, examples of her work and memorabilia from exhibitions. Of particular interest is her photographs on location in Canada’s arctic communities through the 1980s-1990s.

The 2016 accession is divided into 5 series, with one sous-fonds. Series I relates to biographical information, Series II relates to her personal correspondence, Series III relates to art activities, Series IV relates to her photographs and Series V is mixed media consisting of slides, cds and dvds detailing her work. The sous-fonds relates to Mary’s records of artist Keith Wood’s work.

The fonds consists of textual material and 82 micro-cassette tapes featuring interviews conducted by Dr. Mary Kinnear with women professionals in Manitoba as research for her books, In Subordination: Professional Women, 1870-1970 and A Female Economy: Women's Work in a Prairie Province, 1870-1970.

The fonds consists of typescripts of most of Mary Benham's unpublished works. Many of the manuscripts are accompanied by research notes and correspondence. Also included are sketches, plays, agreements, presentations, poems, a scrapbook, published articles, news clippings, and memorabilia. The photograph collection consists of 17 photographs, 2 slides, and 2 negatives.

The collection consists of materials relating to Mary Olga Park, including her books "Between Time and Eternity" (1960) and "Man, the Temple of God" (1968), other spiritual and biographical writings, and records of the Service of Mystical Communion with Christ (S.M.C.C.).

The fonds consists of Speechly's notes on her life activities and achievements, a paper presented by her on social conditions (1954), a paper on the formation of the Winnipeg Birth Control Society (1934), and a letter to Winnipeg Foundation requesting a grant for the Family Planning Association. Yearly reports prepared by Mrs. Speechly for the Family Planning Association of Winnipeg for 1948, 1955, 1957, 1958, 1964 and 1965 as well as the rough drafts of yearly reports for 1957 and 1958 are included. The script for the CBC broadcast entitled Woman of the Century Radio Letter by Jessica Swail (1967) is included. The fonds also contains Mrs. P.H.T. Thorlakson's presentation on the occasion of awarding Ms. Speechly the degree of Doctor of Laws, items and testimonials relating to Ms. Speechly's retirement party and 90th birthday party, clippings regarding the opening of Mary Speechly Hall at the University of Manitoba in 1964, copies of Institute News for March 1960 and 1964 and a black and white photograph of Mary Speechly. Finally, a letter from Eileen Mestery to Ms. Bishop regarding the history of the Winnipeg Family Planning Association, 6 February 1980, is included.

The fonds consists of the personal papers of Matthew A. Parker including correspondence, an autograph collection of famous British personalities, biographical items, family documents, and letters of recommendation.

This fonds contains Spiritualist correspondence, ephemera and publications, clippings, course material, and photographs of fellow Spiritualists, 1959-1996; many of the textual records are photocopies. It includes lectures/talks prepared by Mrs. Hilda Martin (ca. 1917- dd. between 1987/1994), Mrs. Charlotte Newlands (1907-2003), and other individuals at the First Spiritualist Church of Montreal and St. James United Church (Montreal), as well as tributes relating to Leslie Flint (1911-1994) and photographs of Flint and his partner Bram Rogers (dd. 1993).
