The fonds consists of biographical material, correspondence, drafts, and versions of Dorothy Livesay's writings of all genres. The records are divided into five categories: autobiographical, biographical, bibliographical, business papers regarding her writing and her personal business papers. The remainder of the manuscript collection consists of plays, reviews, poems, short stories, essays, talks and addresses, and memoirs. The photograph collection contains pictures of Dorothy Livesay, her family and friends, and places and buildings. The tape collection consists of conversations between Livesay and others, interviews, poetry readings, radio broadcasts, music, and memoirs.

Bernard Grad fonds

The fonds has been arranged into 28 series. The records cover Grad's research into healing and his other formal research at McGill University. Grad's long association with the Subud spiritual movement that he shared with his wife Lottie (Renée) is also included.

This fonds consists of records relating to the daily functions of the Post family farm. Materials include account books and receipts documenting grain and livestock production, Canadian Wheat Board permit books, as well as federal and municipal tax returns and receipts, and notices of land assessments. Financial records such as lease and mortgage papers are also included. The fonds also contains a small collection of personal correspondence. In addition, there exists correspondence between Stephen Post and both the Agricultural College at the University of Manitoba and the Department of Agriculture's Dominion Experimental Farms related to Mr. Post's participation in wheat sample experiments from 1927-1929. This fonds consists of the series: Personal Records; Farm Records.

William Neville fonds

The fonds consists of Neville's papers as city councillor including correspondence and reports of the various committees on which he served. Committee reports include the Historical Buildings Committee and the Winnipeg Library Committee reports. Neville chaired the Committee on Environment and also sat on the Committee on Recreation and Social Services, the Committee on Protection, Parks and Culture and various ad hoc committees dealing with Access to Information, Public Libraries and the General Government By-law. Also included are papers relating to the Manitoba Heritage Council, the Historic Sites and Monuments Board, and miscellaneous writings, speeches, and manuscripts/drafts of columns. The collection also includes Neville's university papers as assistant to the President of the University of Manitoba.

The 2005 accessions are divided into six series: biographical material, correspondence, articles and writings, organizations and conferences, other interests and issues, and photographs. The 2006 accession contains Neville’s extensive correspondence, samples of his writings in completed published and handwritten draft form, and a large amount of information related to causes he was involved in and people he was friends or with whom he wasacquainted. This accession strongly emphasizes his work as a city councilor, executive assistant and political science instructor, as well as samples of the many newspaper columns and speeches he has written or presented between 1970 and 2006.

The 2009 accession is divided into twelve series: biographical material and awards, speeches, citations and commentaries, articles and book chapters, Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada, Manitoba Heritage Council, Heritage Winnipeg, City of Winnipeg, Winnipeg Public Library, correspondence, academic material, Meech Lake Accord research, and research material.

The photograph collection consists of 31 photographs, 10 slides, and 1 videocassette. The tape collection consists of 5 audio reels.

The 2001-008 accession consists of personal information, professional and personal correspondence, a published magazine article, unpublished material, a speech, miscellaneous material relating to Fredelle Maynard, and material relating to other family members of Fredelle Maynard. The accession also contains an extensive photograph collection comprising of 138 negatives, 17 slides, and 2826 photographs. A1980-017, A1986-047: Contains research material used in writing her book Frederick Philip Grove (1973)*. Includes correspondence, interviews (tapes and typescripts), research notes and news articles. There are also copies of three articles on the Graphic Press plus a paper on "Friedrich Hebbel" delivered to the English Club in Simcoe, Ontario (1932). The fifteen tapes have been transferred to the Tape Collection, TC 2.

The Collection gives a glimpse of the rural Manitoba towns in which Frederick Grove lived and taught. The private interviews, although based on somewhat vague recollections, reflect the communities' attitude and feelings toward Grove, especially those of former students, and show a more personal, intimate aspect of Grove's rather unique character and lifestyle.

TC 24 (A1980-017): The tape collection consists of a description of the original project for linguistic study of the Scotch-Cree dialect called Bungi ; transcriptions of all tapes as made by the Indian History Film Project, and the spectrograms and analysis of Margaret Stobie's dialectal study.

The first accession: is separated into seven series. The first pertains to Margaret Stobie's research with the Bunji dialect (1965-1969) The second concerns the North Studies Project (1965-1977). William Stobie held a two year term as president of the Winnipeg Little Theatre Co. and Margaret acted, directed and produced plays for the company. The third series related to the theatre company and includes it's merging with Theatre 77 to create the Manitoba Theatre Centre (1950-1982). The fourth series deals with William Stobie's involvement with the University of Manitoba's academic unions (1949-1976). The fifth series relates to William Stobie's committee work while at the University of Manitoba (1948-1975). The sixth series contains information on Professor Harry Crowe's dismissal from United College (1958-1959). Theatre, ballet and concert program make up the final series. (1936-1979).

The second accession: consists primarily of Margaret Stobie’s research and publication drafts along with a photographic collection of Margaret and William Stobie’s early years. The accession consists of a manuscript and photographic collection. The Manuscript collection is divided into six series consisting of Publication Drafts, Correspondence, Research, Biographical, Publications, and Miscellaneous materials. The photographic collection consists of 77 photographs, 4 albums, and 18 photo negatives.

The third accession: This accession consists primarily of William Stobie's academic papers and biographical materials, Margaret Stobie's manuscripts, and personal photographs of William Stobie’s early years. The accession consists of a manuscript and photographic collection. The Manuscript collection is divided into eleven series consisting of Biographical Materials, Correspondence, Academic Writing/Manuscripts - Margaret Stobie, Miscellaneous Writing - William Stobie, Academic Writing - William Stobie, Class Notes - William Stobie, Lecture Notes - William Stobie, Academic Reference Materials, Research Notes - Margaret Stobie, Publications, Oversized Materials, and Photograph & Tape Collections. The Ritchie Collection consists entirely of the office files he generated as a Member of Parliament from 1968-1979. It does not contain any of his medical papers, files on his patients, or any other documents not directly related to his political career.

Unlike many other Members of Parliament collections, Ritchie’s has a very complete run of his speeches and parliamentary reports through the years which, more than any other records, provide a strong sense of his politics, views and philosophies. His constituency files provide the researcher with a fairly good prospective on the attitudes and concerns of western Manitobans throughout these years.
