This fonds contains a memorial book “The Spirit Lives” (Hamilton, Ontario: Brown’s Enterprises, 1945) in a decorative box for the 29 September 1954 funeral service of Leon John Eekman (1880-1954), which contains the signatures of the attendees. Also in the box were 2 b/w photographs of a bedridden or recently deceased man (dated 12 September 1917, labeled “Diaconessenhuis Utrecht” on back) (this is almost certainly Eekman’s father Thomas Adam Eekman, who died on 12 September 1917 in Utrecht) & an obituary clipping for Leon John Eekman from a Victoria newspaper (photocopied 8 June 2015). It also contains a reproduction of the registration of death housed in the BC Archives at the Royal BC Museum, printed by the archivist during the processing of this collection on 25 June 2015.

The fonds consists of 48 farm account books of the Rance family farm, which offer an interesting insight into forty years of farm life. The Rance family history by Evelyn (Brown) Steeves, Leroy Rance's sister, covers the years 1905 to 1930.

The fonds consists of a published monograph, As Life Unfolds: Memoirs of Les J. Millington. Topics in the autobiography include Millington's early life in England, his immigration to Canada, the creation of his company, Rockford International, his travels to numerous countries in order to export Canadian cattle, and his retirement to Florida and Falcon Lake, Manitoba. The monograph includes several copies of photographs and excerpts from media articles about Les Millington. In the preface, Millington mentions that the autobiography was dictated to his wife, Luvena Millington, and transcribed by Opal Langrell, the author of Yesteryears: Woodlands Municipal Memoirs.

The fonds for A1997-069 consists of five series. They include: correspondence; speeches, evidence & briefs; E.J. McMurray material; topics of interest; and material by other people.

This collection consists of published articles written by Libby Simon in journals, the Winnipeg Free Press and various books. It also consists of a small amount of correspondence.

The collection contains the "diaries" (yearly journals), travel books and correspondence (mostly letters received) of L.B. Allen, along with miscellaneous mementos, news clippings, and drafts and copies of her published work. There are also materials about the correspondence of the Allen and Harper families, with drafts and copies of (mostly non-scientific) articles by Frank Allen. With the 1995 accrual, a number of nature and travel slides were added to the photograph collection. The collection also contains corresponding text used by L. B. Allen in slide shows, as well as design lectures.
Boxes 16, 17, and 18, as well as Box 2 of the photograph collection and one slide binder, contain material from the 1995 accrual. Other material from this accrual is integrated into the previously existing collection. Eight tape cassettes were also added.
The bulk of the 1046 items are photographs of Miss Allen, family members, friends and colleagues, of whom many were connected with the University of Manitoba. There are a few photographs of places, and some drawings by Miss Allen and others. The albums also contain some memorabilia and newsclippings. Most items in the albums are identified and dated. There also are a few enlargements of photographs which appeared in her published book, Frost. Most of the 195 slides are a sample of Miss Allen's slide shows, which she presented on numerous occasions throughout the country.
Separated from the collection are numerous family photographs, nature and travel slides (PC 42) and several tape cassettes (TC 28). The slides housed in the photograph collection are a representative sample of what was donated.

Linda (Hamilton) Klassen Collection
This collection contains 4 unique photographs that complement the Hamilton Family fonds photograph collection, including a formal portrait of T.G. Hamilton from ca. 1904 (annotated “TGH aged 31”), and three copies of a photograph of T.G. and Lillian Hamilton sitting with spirit photographer William Hope in England in 1932 (2 marked, 1 annotated), as well as the envelope which contained these and other materials. This collection also includes a CD of scanned versions of these 4 photographs and 1 annotated reverse side.

The collection is largely made up of Aboriginal newspapers and other publications, but also includes photographs, promotional material, reports, summaries, government documents, manuals, board materials, and research materials.

The fonds consists of Linda Morra's paper entitled "The Representation of French-Canadians in Ralph Connor, The Man from Glengarry". The paper is in part based on research conducted by Linda Morra, with the support of a University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections Hamilton Research Grant, during the summer of 1999. The paper was presented to the Association for Canadian Studies in the United States (ACSUS), in Pittsburgh, on November 19, 1999.

Linguistic Circle of Manitoba and North Dakota fonds
The fonds consists of the published proceedings of the LCMND annual conferences. Most proceedings include a foreword detailing the history of the LCMND, a listing of its officers, and a brief summary of all the papers to be presented at the annual conference. The collection includes original copies of all proceedings, photoccopies of several early proceedings, a publication entitled Papers Presented to the Linguistic Circle of Manitoba and North Dakota: 1989-1993, and an unbound [10x14 inches, legal paper] copy of v. 1 (1959) - v. 19 (1979). The collection also includes four folders containing conference programs, a copy of a proceeding, the full text of Juan Bahk's "Dadaism, Zen Buddhism and Tristan Tzara," presented at the 1991 conference, as well as correspondence detailing the donation between Dr. Gaby Divay, University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections, and Professor Erc Annandale. The fonds also includes a copy of a speech given by then LCMND president Neil Besner on October 28, 1994, entitled "The Great Canadian Shields." In his speech, Besner addresses the biography and the creative writings of author Carol Shields who was to receive the Pulitzer Prize half a year later, in 1995.

This collection is comprised of three series. The first series, "Reports," contains scripts of reports Lionel Moore completed for the CBC as agricultural correspondent. The files are arranged chronologically and those with no specific date are filed last. The second series, "Scrapbooks," is made up of scrapbooks containing mostly clippings. The third series, "Photographs," is a photographic collection which has been separated and is now held as PC 92.

Louis Riel Letter to Pierre Lavallee
The letter is dated 1883 and is addressed to Monsieur Pierre Lavallée, Court Clerk of Marquette-East, Clerk and Treasurer of the Municipality of St. Francois Xavier. The letter congratulates Lavallée on his public position and encourages Lavallée to do his best to promote the interests of a favourable relationship between the Métis and French Canadians. Riel highlights the many qualities of the Métis and admirable qualities of French Canadians. Riel emphasizes the necessity of a good relationship with and the connections between the Métis and French Canadians.
