The fonds consists of the following series: Biographical; Correspondence; Research Material; Publications by I. Tarnawecky; Miscellaneous; Audio-recordings; Photographs.

The photograph collection contains over 1500 images. Where possible, individual shots have been separated with personalities identified and exact dates. Most of these photographs have appeared in the Jolly Miller between the years 1937-1969. Where dates are not readily available, an attempt has been made to be decade specific. There are eight photo albums that mainly display mill operations. They have been kept intact and given their own numbering system. ( ie: P.C. 122-A-001). All negatives that came with the collection have been stored separately.

There are 419 blueprints in the collection. They are arranged by location and filed in chronological order. The blueprints are stored in the map cabinets.

The first Ogilvie family mill was erected at Jacques Cartier in 1801. While the collection does not contain records back to the Company's inception, there are land deeds dating back to 1847 and material running concurrently up to 1983. The files include: financial records, income tax returns, shareholders lists, balance sheets, and ledgers. The legal records include deeds, land titles and agreements. The corporate files (including ledgers) consist of Board of Directors minutes, annual reports, letters patent, and correspondence from several Ogilvie Flour Mills Co. Ltd. presidents. There are administrative records that offer a glimpse into the day-to-day running of a flour mill with renovation costs and personnel files. The fond contains bound volumes of The Jolly Miller, the Company's publication.

The collection consists of biographical material, correspondence, drafts, and versions of Livesay's writings of all genres. Over half of the Livesay collection consists of papers that are strictly non-literary yet directly related to her life and work. This material is divided into five categories: autobiographical, biographical, bibliographical, business papers regarding her writing and her personal business papers. The remainder of the manuscript collection consists of plays, reviews, poems, short stories, essays, talks and addresses, and memoirs.

The collection consists of photographs of Livesay, family members, friends, and fellow writers. There are photographs of family homes and other places where Livesay has lived and worked, notably Manitoba, British Columbia, and Zambia. In the listing, identifications transcribed from the photographs themselves are placed within double quotation marks. Many of the photographs are held also as slides and negatives, a few in slide or negative form only: the notations "P," "S"' and "N" beside the item number indicate the formats (Print, Slide, Negative). All negatives are stored in Box #4. Slides are stored separately in the slides cabinet.

The collection consists of audio tapes of poetry readings, memoirs, interviews, music, and recordings of CBC programs.

The fonds documents Heather Robertson's life, including her literary and academic career, from 1942 to 1992. There are drafts of many of her books, reviews of her books and in some instances reviews or articles of interest to her. There is correspondence between the author and her publishers and editors, and subjects she interviewed and wrote about. As well, there is personal correspondence with her parents between the years 1969 and 1991. These letters document both her private life and her literary career. There are also dozens of articles that Robertson published between the years 1965 and 1992. Pertaining to her academic career, there is a large scrapbook that contains pictures, awards, and other information that spans her entire public school career, as well as some postgraduate academic work. There are also two drafts of Robertson's M.A. thesis for English Literature at Columbia University. Besides copies of books that Robertson wrote, there are also several publications that she used in her research.

There is a photograph collection (PC 7) containing over 1000 photographs, and a tape collection (TC 67) that contains 11 audio tapes.

The collection consists sound recordings mainly of interviews, poetry readings, memoirs, music, and recordings of CBC and BBC radio programs.

This accession of the fonds consists of print and digital drafts of MacDonald's published and unpublished work, notes, correspondence, and research pertaining to those works, scrapbooks containing clippings related to MacDonald and his work, audio cassettes containing radio plays written by MacDonald, DVD copies of the film adaptation of MacDonald's book Juliana and the Medicine Fish, and CD-RWs containing photographs and text documents.

This accession of the fonds consists of notebooks containing research for several of MacDonald's books; three photographs; personal correspondence; audio cassettes containing radio adaptations of MacDonald's works and messages from MacDonald's answering machine; a VHS copy of an American Experience episode about spiritualism and Harry Houdini; digital copies of notes, research, and drafts of MacDonald's work on floppy disks and a rewritable conpact disc; medals received by MacDonald; and a cork from MacDonald's fortieth birthday celebration.

A2011-114 consists of records related to the production of "Moment of Light" and "The Will to Win" ("La rage de vaincre"), as well as records relating to Gordon Reeve's sculpture and career as a filmmaker. The accession includes textual records, photographs, textile material, posters, film and audio reels (16 and 35 mm), audio mastering tapes, and high band master tapes.

A2012-086 consists of VHS tapes, Betamax tapes, Betacam tapes, U-matic tapes, Hi-8 tapes, 16-mm film reels, 16-mm audio reels, audio tapes, and 4 digital audio tapes from the production of the films "The Will to Win" ("La rage de vaincre") and "Moment of Light - The Dance of Evelyn Hart," as well as some material related to the films "I am the Hornblower," "Harawi," and “In Hidden Gardens,” directed by Reeve.
