The fonds consists of Henry Kreisel's diaries, correspondence, literary manuscripts and notes. The correspondence includes letters to and from the Kreisel family, close friends and other writers. The business correspondence deals with publishers, editors, universities and a number of organizations. Many essays are also included, as are manuscripts of all of Kreisel's novels and short stories.

The fonds consists of a published monograph, As Life Unfolds: Memoirs of Les J. Millington. Topics in the autobiography include Millington's early life in England, his immigration to Canada, the creation of his company, Rockford International, his travels to numerous countries in order to export Canadian cattle, and his retirement to Florida and Falcon Lake, Manitoba. The monograph includes several copies of photographs and excerpts from media articles about Les Millington. In the preface, Millington mentions that the autobiography was dictated to his wife, Luvena Millington, and transcribed by Opal Langrell, the author of Yesteryears: Woodlands Municipal Memoirs.

The fonds is divided into three series. A single article about Suzanne Muir, her sister and Reverend Wood comprises the biographical series. The second series contains lectures that Suzanne Muir gave at the Spiritualist Church that congregated at the International Odd Fellows Hall. The third series is comprised of newspaper clippings and published articles that Muir used for research purposes.

A1979-014 includes lecture notes, manuscripts and published articles, radio and television scripts, maps, photographs, newspaper clippings, magazine articles and scrapbooks. In addition, there are three boxes of Indian Legends, recorded in the scrapbooks of Alex Grisdale of the Scanterbury Indian Reservation (2 boxes) and transcribed by Mrs. Shipley (1 box).
The map collection is noteworthy for its maps of the old Indian trails which crossed the prairie provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
The photograph collection contains pictures of historic sites throughout Manitoba. It is particularly valuable, however, for its record of old and new, urban and rural transportation in Manitoba (e.g. Red River carts, streetcars, railways, steamships, dog sleds and air transport). It provides a pictorial record of hydro developments in northern Manitoba and of the growth and demise of northern towns and settlements. Major and cottage industries, wildlife, flora and fauna of Manitoba are included. Among the portraits are native peoples, early missionaries and settlers and contemporary civic minded individuals. The research materials are on miscellaneous topics paralleling those of the picture collection.

A2005-082 consists of Nan Shipley’s unpublished autobiography Most of it was fun; unpublished manuscript Women of Fort Albany, correspondence, and numerous short stories and articles.

The photograph collection (PC 210) consists of photographs of a 1944 re-enactment of the Bishop Mountain's arrival to the Red River Settlement in 1844. The Most Rev. Philip Carrigton, Archbishop of Quebec, played the role of Bishop Mountain. The fonds also includes a photograph of Ian Park's great-grandfather, W. Aldridge (St. John's College, Art Graduates, 1900), and some newspaper clippings.

The collection contains the "diaries" (yearly journals), travel books and correspondence (mostly letters received) of L.B. Allen, along with miscellaneous mementos, news clippings, and drafts and copies of her published work. There are also materials about the correspondence of the Allen and Harper families, with drafts and copies of (mostly non-scientific) articles by Frank Allen. With the 1995 accrual, a number of nature and travel slides were added to the photograph collection. The collection also contains corresponding text used by L. B. Allen in slide shows, as well as design lectures.

Boxes 16, 17, and 18, as well as Box 2 of the photograph collection and one slide binder, contain material from the 1995 accrual. Other material from this accrual is integrated into the previously existing collection. Eight tape cassettes were also added.

The bulk of the 1046 items are photographs of Miss Allen, family members, friends and colleagues, of whom many were connected with the University of Manitoba. There are a few photographs of places, and some drawings by Miss Allen and others. The albums also contain some memorabilia and newsclippings. Most items in the albums are identified and dated. There also are a few enlargements of photographs which appeared in her published book, Frost. Most of the 195 slides are a sample of Miss Allen's slide shows, which she presented on numerous occasions throughout the country.

Separated from the collection are numerous family photographs, nature and travel slides (PC 42) and several tape cassettes (TC 28). The slides housed in the photograph collection are a representative sample of what was donated.

A1980-043, A1980-047: the fonds contains: minutes and correspondence of the Board of Directors and Committees, including the Centennial Committee; files on awards, fund raising and advertising activities; correspondence with branches of the Association and other Canadian and American Alumni Associations; annual reports; miscellaneous correspondence of former Alumni Executive Director, John M. Gordon. Most records date from 1950 to 1975.

PC 8:The photograph collection contains 222 images. Where possible, individuals in the images have been identified and dated. Many of the photographs appeared in the Alumni Journal and The Manitoban between the years 1960 and 1973. There are 29 oversized photographs of early twentieth century graduating classes and intercollegiate activities.

A2003-114: The fonds contains 43 photographs of historical figures relating to the University of Manitoba, the Canadian Forestry Convention in Winnipeg, and the official opening of BRIDGE. The fonds also contains a newspaper clipping of a cartoon.

The collection contains correspondence, diaries, unpublished manuscripts, and copies of published writing. The twelve folders of correspondence, although primarily incoming, include exchanges between Brooker and other artists such as LeMoine Fitzgerald, William Arthur Deacon, and Pelham Edgar. His diaries consist mostly of fragmented excerpts of short, intermittent periods in his life. The heart of the collection is a core of his literary works, most of which have never been published. Most consist of original and second drafts showing evolutionary changes, corrections, and notations. There are thirty-five plays, portions of novels, seventy-five short-stories, essays (most of which are unpublished), and a considerable amount of poetry. Most of the poetry has been published by Professor Birk Sproxton in a book by Turnstone Press titled Sounds Assembling (1980). Several of the poems are in multiple drafts, though only a few are dated. Brooker's published writings on advertising remain with the family. Art work is not included in the collection. The balance of the manuscript collection consists of newspaper clippings, photographs, an account book, and other miscellaneous items. The collection also contains Brooker's private research library consisting of approximately 300 volumes, many of which are carefully annotated.

The collection contains membership records, constitution and by-laws, correspondence, minutes of meetings, programs, publicity brochures, and a history.

The fonds consists of a family history, poem, newspaper clipping, memoirs, legal papers, and photographs of Elm Creek businesses and farm scenes.

The fonds consists of research material and interviews compiled for the publication of MPC Flashbacks: A Commemorative History Celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Arrival of Settlers in the Meleb-Park-Cuming School District Area.

The collection contains playscripts with music arrangements, tapes, news clippings, musical scores and recordings of Oscar Brand's work. The tapes include: recordings of Gold Rush commissioned from Agnes De Mille by John Houseman, interviews with some of America's leading popular song personalities, a television production of the Kennedy Center Bicentennial Show, and one of the episodes of Brand's NBC-TV series, The Spirit of '76. The playscripts include The Education of Hyman Kaplan (a complete rewrite of the Broadway show) and Thunder Bay, a musical production by Lucille Lortel at The White Barn in Connecticut. Included also are the full musical scores of the Broadway musical A Joyful Noise. Recordings include My Christmas is Best, America Dreamer, Sing Along, and One Hundred Proof Drinking Songs. The collection also contains publicity clippings, announcements of programs, brochures, and playbills.

Series consists of annual reports for the following years: 1934-38, 1940-47 (incl 1947 "tropical medicine") 1985/85, 1986/8, President's Reports 1953/54-1962/63, 1983/84-1984/85, Forensic Medicine 1934-38,1940-43, Neuropathology 1982/83; 1983/84, 1986/87, 1998/9.

The fonds consists of five audio cassettes of interviews conducted by University of Manitoba archivist Richard E. Bennett. Interviewees include: C.E. L'Ami (January 31, 1980); Margaret Hamilton Bach who speaks about the psychical research of Thomas Glendenning Hamilton (November 26, 1980); John D. Mundie, professor of business administration, and dean of the Asper School of Business who speaks about the Faculty of Management at the University of Manitoba (November 25, 1986); and poet Anne Marriott (1913-1997) who is interviewed at her home in North Vancouver, B.C., (February 14, 1989).

This fonds consists of short histories written and submitted by the families included in the aforementioned history, early drafts of various sections of the book, a publisher's draft of the book, and a binder of photostats of pictures and images to be published with the book.

The fonds consists of grain permit books, income tax returns and farm account books belonging to Robert J. MacDonald and income tax returns, bank books, notebooks, diaries and receipts belonging to John D. MacDonald. Also included in the fonds is a copy of the MacDonald family history.

The papers contained within this collection cover, in part, the years from 1946 to 1988. Included are such items as minutes of various committees, correspondence, research proposals, annual reports, and research reports.

The fonds consists of the speech delivered by Jeanne Sauvé at the 1988 University of Manitoba Convocation ceremonies.

The fonds contains three series. The first is comprised of personal letters to Julia Stadelmeir from Adolf and Emmie, dating from 10 February 1940 to April 1943, as well as correspondence from various military, government officials and Members of Parliament to Julia Stadelmeir dating from 22 April 1943 to 29 February 1988 detailing her efforts to locate her husband. The second series contains newspaper articles detailing the activities of the No. 2 Tunneling Company of the Royal Canadian Engineers. The third contains various items relating to Adolf’s military service, and 18 envelopes without letters from Julia to Adolf marked “returned as undeliverable.”

The fonds contains several type-written letters from Dr. Paul Hiebert to Doreen Klassen. It also includes Klassen's paper entitled "Reflections on Dr. Paul Hiebert," which she presented at the Manitoba Mennonite Historical Society meeting in 1987.

The University Libraries fonds (UA 9) contains correspondence, reports, surveys, statistics and minutes, with files pertaining to Library Committees, acquisitions, library budgets, staff, publications, circulation of library material, library holdings and collections, and grants and awards. The collection documents the work of the Libraries Administration and the unit libraries within the Libraries' system. UA SC 50 and TC 32 consists of enrollment forms, correspondence, budget information, minutes, and six audio cassettes recording the "Continuing Education: Library and Information Needs" conference. The conference was sponsored by the University of Manitoba Libraries, Public Library Services, the Manitoba Library Association, and the Continuing Education Division of the University of Manitoba. The photograph collection (PC 47) consists of 7 photographs depicting the opening of the Carolyn Sifton Wing of the Elizabeth Dafoe Library. MC 5 consists of three maps. PC 5 consists of photographs depicting the opening of the Carolyn Sifton Wing as well as library employees. Two of the maps are identical and entitled Transportation Map (of) Greater Winnipeg, showing street Car Trolley Bus and Bus Lines. These maps, published by the Winnipeg Electric Company, depict the various public transportation routes available in 1941 Winnipeg. The third map is a map of Manitoba, published in 1897 with the authority of the provincial government of Manitoba by the Bulman Brothers and Co. Map Engravers of Winnipeg.
