Biographical history

Frederick Samuel Zaplitny was born in Manitoba and raised in Dauphin. He was elected to the House of Commons in 1945, 1953, and again in 1957. He was defeated in the election of 1958. Zaplitny served with the Canadian delegation to the United Nations in New York in 1957.

Custodial history

The fonds was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Elizabeth Zaplitny in 1979.

The fonds contains verse, political and biographical memorabilia, and newsclippings pertaining to Frederick Samuel Zaplitny and his political career.
