Biographical history
Ethel Ostry was born in Ukraine in 1904. She received a B.A. from the University of Manitoba in 1924 and began her career in social welfare with the city of Winnipeg. After moving to Montreal, Ostry travelled extensively. Between 1943 and 1947, she was the Principal Welfare Officer at Camp Fohrenwald in Wolfratshausen, Germany. She died in Vancouver in 1976.
Custodial history
The fonds was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Mrs. F.O. Fisher in 1979.
Scope and content
The fonds contains a copy of the manuscript After the Holocaust: My work with the UNRRA. The manuscript was originally titled Where is my Family and was later edited by Elizabeth O. Fisher.
