Biographical history
Daryl Kraft was born May 23, 1945 and grew up on the family cattle ranch southwest of Medicine Hat, Alberta. He graduated with a degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Manitoba in 1968. He joined the Department of Agricultural Economics in 1973. Two years later he obtained a Ph.D. from Washington State University. Dr. Kraft was the advisor to over forty graduate students during his teaching career. He was twice Director of the Sol Sinclair Farm Management Institute. In 1998, while department head, he initiated the Agribusiness Chair in Co-operatives & Group Marketing. He was named a fellow of the Canadian Society of Agricultural Economics in 1999. In 2003, he received a Teaching Award of Merit from the National Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture. Dr. Kraft died on July 27, 2003.
Custodial history
The fonds was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Myrna Kraft in 2008.
