Name of creator
The Faculty of Arts was formed when the Faculty of Arts and Science dissolved in 1970. In 1970, the Faculty of Arts signed an agreement with St. Paul's and St. John's Colleges, to unify their respective faculty members. The Arts Faculty Council is made up of the faculty members from Arts, St. Paul's, and St. John's Colleges, as well as undergraduate and graduate student representatives.
The series was originally designated a separate fonds. It was added as a series to the Faculty of Arts fond (UA 27) in March 2002 due to its provenance. However, it can still be found using its original retrieval number, UA SC 19.
Scope and content
The series consists of minutes of the Arts Faculty Council dating November 27, 1973, Februay 12, 1974, March 6, 1974, April 8, 1974, and May 28, 1975. Information on the election of council members to the University senate, council by-laws, professor and course evaluations, and academic evaluations of student course work is also included.
