Administrative history

The University of Manitoba Chapter of the American Association of University Professors was established in 1949, and was possibly the first Canadian chapter of the association. Members of the first executive included William Stobie, President, and E.G. Berry, P. Gelrud, and W. Leach, who served as committee members.

Custodial history

The fonds was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Professor Edmund G. Berry in 1990. He was a member of the Association and an elected committee member.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of one minute book from 1949-1950, including membership lists, correspondence, minutes, and committee rosters.
