The original accrual of the John Pyne Pennefather fonds (A2014-107) consists of a small diary in fair to poor condition which documents a military surgeon’s activities associated with the Winnipeg Rifles and the Alberta Field Force during the 1885 Resistance. Also included is a postcard photograph and a 1855 “Articles of Agreement” document, a regulations of medical care document and two letters also associated with John P. Pennefather with similar value.

Additional Pennefather biographical material, related to his career as a physician, is located in the Faculty of Medicine Archives.
